I am trying to simulate the deformation of a rubber seal. The seal is initially stretched over a groove, the initial deformation needs to be analysed. Then the outer diameter is compressed by a dynamic clamp, this deformation also needs to be analysed. I would like to do this all as a 2D simulation and the only free decent FEA package that I think might be able to simulate this is CalculiX. Will this be possible?
