Hi There my Company in New Zealand is looking into purchasing a new thermographic camera to monitor thermal heating on transmission lines does any one have any info on some cameras that could do this preferably from the ground without interferance from the sun or reflected heat

we would also much like a camera with a large screen ie like an LCD video camera as we seem to get lost in the world of infrared when looking through the viewfinder of our current camera

Thanks in advance

> Not sure what you mean by "interference", but the only way to completely eliminate such interference is to do the measurements at night.

> You don't need a "large" screen. What you need is a zoom lens or a two field-of-view lens, neither of which is cheap.

Your best choice would be a long wavelength camera to minimize solar effects. You can also get an optional LCD viewer, but I would make sure that there is an eyepiece because I have found that it it svery difficult to see LCD screen in btight sunlight.
