I am currently involved in a vibration problem. I suspect that the cams involved may be contributing. Rothbart (ISBN0-07-137757-3 art 10.6) advocates using "finite differences" to assess cam dynamic performance. The problem I have is that the angle interval selected has a profound effect on the results; the smaller the angle, the greater the variance. Has anybody any experience of this technique or can advise as to its efficacy.
