Is there a simple calculation to help figure out weld times? For example I would like to know how long it would take a robot to MIG weld a fillet 2mm x 45 deg 26mm long. I usually just use 30ipm as a general welding speed but with such a small weld I'm not sure. Any ideas ?

AWS published a "Recommended Practice" for GMAW. They have charts showing the deposition rates for various electrode diameters and amperages.

Using that information and calculating the volume of weld needed, you should be able to calculate the time required to make the weld.
