Hi everyone,

Is there a formula that can be used to calculate the end-bearing capacity of caissons? Provided the unconfined compressive strength, water content, unit weight, and SPT blow counts are all given?

The soil profile has 12' of fill bgs and hard clay commences at 20-25' bgs. What is the best way to calculate the bearing capacity at a certain depth?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Step 1: Become a geotechnical engineer.
Step 2: Read 700-page FHWA Drilled Shaft Manual or similar.
Step 3: Work in a firm with sufficient experience to provide quality oversight of your work.

There is one missing information : age of the driller !
