Hi,

Staad is new to me, how to do cables in staad. Can it be of nonlinear type?

thank you

Cables can be of linear or non-linear in type in STAAD. The linear type cable member is only a truss member whose properties accommodate the sag factor and initial tension. The non-linear truss or cable member is more sophisticaed and can hanlde large deformations (i.e. catenary cables).
