Hi everyone,
I've started working on a project where I'm designing a cable car tower and had some questions about how they are usually supported in the ground.
What's apparent to be is that the main issue is the overturning as the top of the tower will undergo lateral forces from the cable car cables when they have carriages on them which will create an overturning moment. I assume this is the most critical thing to design for.
Has anyone worked on something like this before? If so are these kinds of towers usually supported by RC foudations or can you rely on embeddment and the earths passive/active resistance to hold it in place?
Any help of these questions would be great or any guidance on some good resources to look at would be great!
Thanks <3
