I-DEAS 9 to 10 is the same process for C3P or Standard installs, and does include TDM migration. On Windows it is simpler than on UNIX since the standard Install program does it all for you.
I'll ignore the OS issues, ie. 9 should be run on W2K SP2 and 10 should be run on XP Pro.
It is recomended that you run DMADMIN utility and perform some standard checks (DIAG) on you currunt TDM data. If you're not familiar with DMADMIN then it's unlikeley you'll know how to fix any problems that DIAG throws you so it may be a waste of time.
Definately backup your \Team folder. Check your backup was succefull!
Run FlexLM License Manager and shut down the licensing daemon.
Unistall I-DEAS 9 software. This will not remove the /Team folder.
Insert CD1 of the Install CDs for I-DEAS 10.
Complete the questions asked
Enter the Password you've been given by EDS
Select the Module(s) you wish to install
Select any additional languages etc. required.
When you get to Select Team Data Instalation use the pull down and select "Use an existing Team Data Installation parameter file"
Browse and select under \Team\Master\Config your ideas_param9.dat file
The installation should recognise that the TDM requires Migrating and will ask you to confirm.
Pending any problems it should then complete the install.
Run FlexLM License Manager, install your new License from EDS and start the Daemon.
Reboot your machine.
Depending on how much data is in your TDM the migration can take a while.
A competant IT professional should have the upgrade complete in 1 - 3 hours. (Not including backup & OS upgrade)
