Ruble3,
Howdy, pard.
I see in my Vic General Catalog that the Vic-300 valves in the 6-12" range are NOT recommended for dry compressed air service. They have a 'Masterseal' variant which may do the trick, but the catalog is a bear to get through as regards applications.
Ironically, their other recommend is to contact Vic Engineering for guidance.
This might be the opportune time to get some assistance from both Vic and Anvil. Can't hurt.
Also, a gate may be the better application, run upwards with teflon gaskets. That could change if you're using the valves to throttle flow. Perhaps then one should go with balls or globes, but that would be a meaty setup at 10 inches.
In any event, geared or powered actuation may solve a lot of seal problems with the larger diameter (8"+) b-flies and gates.
As I get info on this I'll pass it on to you. Keep us posted on your resolution. Best of luck.
