We are using GE Spectra Series 1600A, 380V, 3P+N+G busduct for one of our feeder. During insulation resistance tesing we found that the value of IR is in Giga-Ohms for phase to ground and phase to neutral. But for Neutral to Ground the value is in Megaohms (i.e. 400 Mega-Ohms) while for other parts (pieces) the value of Neutral to Ground Insulation resistance is in Giga Ohms.
GE Catalogue states that the value shall be one megaohm for 100ft.
Q #1 : I want to know is it fine to use the busduct even if there is huge difference in the values of Insulation Resistance for a single piece.
Q # 2: How the Insulation resistance value can be improved if I doubt that may be the busduct terminals are exposed to water?
