Building Occupancy & DTS Provisions

Morning,

Currently involved in a fitout where the occupancy of the existing building is NOT changing.

I'm looking for a standard or a section of the BCA that says something along the lines of "If the occupancy isn't changing thus the existing structural system is deemed to satisfy BCA/Standards etc etc."

I know there is something out there that states that under a certain % change of occupancy you can refer to something similar to what I have said above.

Currently I'm looking through AS3826 - Strengthening of Existing Buildings for Earthquake - which is starting to allude to what I am after.

Has anyone actually gone through both the Appendix Z above and AS3826 to determine if an existing building requires strengthening or not?

From what I read in AS3826 2.3.3.2 a) i) A floor plate exceeding 300m^2 immediately requires you to work out the threshold loads and perform a lateral analysis on the building? This isn't a big area...

In my case I have an existing building (built ~1971) that will be fully refurbed in a fairly seismic region (Z=0.16). It's a 5 storey RC building utilising shear walls.
