bsp taper threads, how do you work them out 1

hello everyone

Im trying to thread mill a 1/4 bspt thread. But how do you know what dia to mill to (is it the major dia or miner or something else) and what depth do you go to. Any help would be a great help.
 
no not quite, thats a chart for bsp parallel and i need bsp tapered. i have the chart for bsp tapered but i dont know how to use the figures to create my program. As i have a standard thread gauge for the thread, im assuming that there is a standard depth you go to and a diameter to mill out to, but i dont now what that is.
 
Assuming that you've managed to find a suitable tapered thread mill and that your CNC hasn't got spiral interpolation you might try this link:
