Hey all,
I have to use a British Universal Beam (UB) and Universal column (UC) to replace a WF in my structure design. What I need to know is, what are the mechanical properties of this steel? Is it the same as A992? Thanks,

ER

Mechanical properties for carbon steel are E=2.1e5 and v=0.3. The yield strength will of course depend on the grade of steel specified. Structural steel, or Grade 43 or S275, as it's commonly known has a yield of 275 MPa. The next highest grade, which is often used is grade 50, or S355, with a yield of 355 MPa.
