Bridle Connection?

Someone from my company is trying to purchase this:

" two only, one inch raised face 150# flange... " <I'm okay so far> "... with a bridle connection."

Our flange supplier is stumped, and so am I.

Does anyone have a clue what that flange accessory or modification might be?

( No, I don't know _who_ from my company is buying it, or why they're buying it _for_my_project_, ... but let's just say that doesn't surprise me. )

Mike: the "bridle" goes with the pipe "saddle" he bought on another purchase order! (grin!)

Are you sure this isn't for an assembly to MAKE a "bridle"- a standpipe used for level measurement on a pressure vessel or tank? 1" would be awfully small, but you can connect a 2" or 3" bridle using 1" flanges... Otherwise your guess is as good as mine as to WTF this person means!

A guy who knows the Cajun Redneck dialect better than me said that it's a regular flange, _for_ the overflow connection of an industrial engine's radiator, which I guess has a standpipe.

Problem solved, I think.

Not going to presume to be any kind of expert in whatever "dialects" you're talking about here, but I believe (coincidentally?) "bridas" happens to be Espanol for "flanges"! [See e.g.
