Hi All,

I’ve got what seems to be a relatively simple question but have not yet been able to find a definitive answer.

I’m trying to find out what the typically accepted out-of-plumb tolerances are for steel bridge girders at the time of erection. Obviously we can’t expect Contractors to erect the girders perfectly plumb so are there any general rules of thumb for what’s acceptable? e.g. 1/16” per foot of girder depth is acceptable, etc.

Thanks!
Tim
