I am trying to find a bridge engineering textbook c/w design examples from the 1950s. I am having no luck finding any bridge design textbooks from this era. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try Google Books. I've found a lot of good books from the mid-19th century on.

Also, take a look at SlideRuleEra's site, he has a lot of publications, including the old US Steel Bridge design manuals:
