Brick wall horizontal loads

I have been asked to rebuild a staircase and landing on the side of an 1870's 4 story brick building. The walls consist of four courses of brick, and are in good condition. The current landing extends 5' off the side of the building, and is attached to the building with A-frame trusses due to space limitations on the ground.

I have been asked to extend the landing by 2', and am attempting to determine if this is possible. I specifically require data concerning the allowable horizontal loads that a brick wall can withstand, and the allowable load distribution. I require this data so that I can compute the allowable stresses at the anchor points of the frames.

Thanks in advance,
John P.
