Brick veneer to steel frame attachment 1

Hi,

I have a situation where I have to attach a brick veneer cladding to steel framing. I have not done this before. Is there any document which address the design basics for such cladding attachment?

[li]First I would would go to the Brick Industry Association website. They have some excellent guides.[/li]
[li]Then I would either call or explore the Hohmann and Barnard company. Lots of products, well described, plus they answer the phone.[/li]

You need a backup... either CMU, CFS steel studs, or ???.

Was thinking of CFS steel studs

I've used those to a height of about 18', for one shopping centre. Worked well... still standing after 2 decades. Have to be careful about limiting deflections... I use L/720 to make sure the wall is pretty stiff.
