breaking parts out of a 3D Object

Hello! I am new to this group and am an original SolidWorks user and, after a few year hiatus, I just started using it again. I have a 3D object of a car floor pan, frame, transmission, engine, blah blah blah. I would like to, if possible, remove all the pieces and keep the frame rails.

any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
