We have a large amount of brass fittings that have been used in a cooling system and they are coated on the inside by a glycol residue. Also they just look tarnished. Any anyone help with a brass brightener and glycol remover formula.

Glycols, being water miscible should wash off with hot water. But, the nature of your question suggests that there is some sort of residue present such as a corrosion product, hardened sediment, etc. What kind of system are you talking about, and why do you want to attempt to re-use the fittings?

The fittings are from x-ray units and we are paid to tear down and recover the usable parts(when the servisable life of the unit is complete). The fittings are now cleaned using etch and deox.. processes but this removes too much material and internal threads are damaged. I was looking for a way to remove corrosion and brighten the parts wits less damage.
