When winding a filament or roving around a mandrel, with constant tension on the roving, does the normal (radial) force where the roving touches the mandrel vary with the diameter of the mandrel?

The total contact force is a constant at two times the tension. The contact pressure is inversely proportional to the mandrel diameter. Twice the diameter is half the pressure because it has twice the surface area.
