Does anyone know where I can find papers by Boussinesq in the late 1800s and early 1900s? I am specifically looking for his solution of elastic stress distribution around a friction pile.

Terzaghi's "Soil Mechanics in Engineering Practice" shows the difference between footing and pile ditribution in Figure 52.16. Most discussions theoretcially show this and take about settlement. I'm looking for stress distribution.

NOTE: DO NOT POST LINKS TO BOUSSINESQ PT, DIST, UNIFORM LOAD BOUSSINESQ SURCHARGES...these are widely published.

Sorry - can't help other than it is interesting that Poulos and Davis' book on "Elastic Solutions for Soil and Rock Mechanics" doesn't even mention Boussinesq! He's not in the author's list or listed as a reference. You could refer to Chapter 13.2 ot the P&D book on Single Compressive Floating Pile for Mattes and Poulos' solution.

I'm fortunate - I have the hard copy with me here in Indonesia! So much easier to peruse.
