Hi, I have a Bosch Ecu 038 906 019 BK / 0281 010 305
fitted to VW Passat TDi Auto, year 2000. The unit was failing when cold, I traced problem to the Flash mem.
AM29F400BT. I have removed and read contents of Flash. Hex 000000 to 00C210 is full with C3. This looks a bit odd?
I have to warm the chip to get it to read, The first read gives checksum 8C4B. As it cools a little the checksum is 8C6B and location 02E260 changes from Hex 12 to 32.
Does anyone have default hex dumps for the flash, or software to read maps.
I understand its possible to re-map the flash for more BHP.
Any info on this for my ECU would be great, as I could reprog the new flash when it arrives.
