Any names of books for ranges of equivalent lenghts of pipes? Does anyone recognize "PIA Pipe Friction Handbook" from Australian Pump Industry Assosiation? I would rather prefer values in International System...
Thanks again
Crane Tech Data Book
Pipeline Rules of Thumb (6 pages of them)
McGraw Hill Piping Handbook (4 or 5 pages)
McGraw Hill Pump Handbook (another 4 or 5 pages)
katmar has a very nice unit conversion program he will let you download just for visiting his website!
Equivalent lengths are by definition dimesionless. If the L/D ratio of a bend is 16 you will get the equivalent length in whatever units you use for the diameter, just multiplied by 16. One of the few instances in engineering where units conversions don't come and bite us. But thanks to BigInch for the plug for Uconeer anyway.
Actually one was in nomograph form giving Le in feet for fitting diameters in inches, since they wanted to show some diameter dependence. But now that you mention it, Uconeer is absolutely the greatest "engineer's" unit converter I've ever seen.
