can you explain what mean by bonus tolerance. with example

Bonus tolerance is used in GD&T and allows one tolerance to vary according to another.
For example, a hole dimension is 10mm +/- 1mm and the center of the hole must be within a

Understand this one thing about True Position; it is very easy to apply a tolerance that is much tighter than necessary. As a quicky test, divide the Circurlar Tolerance you have by two. This will approximate the plus/minus tolerance. If it is too small to be practical, then increase the CT.


It is amazing to me how oftenmiss applied GD&T increases the cost of parts. "But, we used GD&T!" Well, you MISS used it!

There are a number of books available and schools that can teach GD&T. A junior college in your area may be one of the better choices. Also, there are on-line classes to consider.
