Bond Strength on Mat'l Spec Sheet?

Hi All

I am using a piece of G-10/Fr-4 Laminate. I was reviewing the data specifications and found "Bond Strength"(sheet 2 attached). Can anyone tell me what that refers too? I am guessing, its the strength of the material parallel to the glass fabric? Although to have a tensile strength of 38k and a bond strength of 2.2k doesn't seem right. If the tensile strength was only in certain directions I would expect the specification sheet to be more specific.
Any help appreciated.

Seems like you need to look at the ASTM D229 test that produced the number to figure out its physical significance.

It refers you to ASTM D229, which should tell you how the test is conducted.

From a search, I get the impression that it has to do with how well stuff sticks to the G10, but you need to get the ASTM spec to be sure.

In order to get ASTM D229 if would have to purchase it from ASTM? What a racket. Cash is tight with this economy there is no way I can get $$$ to buy that spec.
Mike, I doubt its how well stuff sticks. Too vauge.

Cripe, pay the $45 and get the standard. You'll probably waste more of your time than that speculating ...

Or call a manufacturer of the material and ask them what the test data means.
