Hello all

i work for a food manufacturing firm and we have been having problems with our boiler water quality. We are struggling to keep the OH and P alkalinities in spec, and this is not easy given that the water softener is down. given below are some of the results we have been obtaining.

May someone reccommend food grade chemicals or methods which we can apply to solve this problem. the boiler is a 12t/hr fire tube boiler.

The best thing that you can do is to get your water softener fixed.

There are also numerous firms that will supply and service rental water softeners in the meantime while your water softener is being repaired.

You should have a local chemical treatment sales rep. that services your plant. What does he say.

There is no magic bullet to remove hardness. It sounds like you are ruining your boiler.
