Body Coordinate System-Nissan 1

I have some body drawings that are leading me to believe that Nissan reverses the X and Y coordinates in the Body system. They seem to use X for Cross/Car and Y for Fore/Aft Z for up down.
Is this true? and is this a Japanese thing or just a Nissan thing?
