I'm currently running SW 2007 sp2.2 and am having some issues when I insert a block into a drawing.

When I insert "Block A", it turns into a different block. When I look at the tree, it shows the "Block A" that I am trying to insert and also "Block 1". The "Block 1" is the actual block that I am trying to insert, but it should be "Block A".

I don't know if that makes sense to anyone, I can attempt to elaborate if need be...is anyone else having this issue?

boottmills,

It sounds as though you have a different block named the same as the one you are trying to insert. Try deleting all the blocks listed in the tree and try re-inserting to see if it comes in correctly. If that works you may want to rename the offending block to something else.

There are no blocks listed in the tree. I have attempted to insert a block in a blank drawing template and the same thing happens.

boottmills,

Just so I understand that you are looking in the correct place there are no blocks listed under the "Blocks" folder when it is expanded? If there are any blocks listed as the same name of the one you are inserting it is only going to use the one that is embedded in the template and not the one that you are trying to insert.

See Example here:

That is correct. The template has no blocks associated with it. What is happpening seems almost as if when I insert a block it is creating an additional block and causing me to insert that one instead.

Do you have 2 blocks with the same name in 2 different folders. if so, make sure your file path is correct.

I am not sure what else would cause this problem other than what sirbartoo had suggested. Try a restart of the system and try the things we have suggested again.

It may also be a bug that you are seeing and probably upgrading to the latest SP will fix the problem.
