Hello.

This is my first post on this forum. I can tell by looking through some of these threads that this place is a wealth of information and wisdom.

I currently need some info on rivets. There is this product that I am designing and it is fastened together with blind rivets. I have to include specifications of these rivets in the design definition and it would be much easier to call out a spec. than to make a model and drawing of the exact rivet I chose to use. I could have chosen to use a MIL spec rivet, however, due to time constraints we used rivet from McMASTER.COM that is a POP brand rivet. The site doesn’t list a particular spec that these rivets meet. It would also be acceptable to simply call out a universal code (if there is one) for the type/size of rivet. This project is in warp mode and It would be nice to not have my drafter take more time to do another drawing and avoid the extra paperwork.

Is this something that ISO 14588:2000 would detail?

Thanks

-Justin
