I recently came across a formulation for this that calls for a 50/50 blend of G-type and W-type. I've not been able to discover why this should be so. Does anyone know why a blend should be used?

Graham,
I think G-types may be better for adhesives because they break down more and are tackier than W-types, but because of that they can be stickier to mixing equipment. So the blend may be a compromise of properties and processing.
