Hi Everyone,

Where can I find the design blast load for grain storage for a brewery? I have found information on blast loads due to terrorism, but not grain dust.

Thanks!

I would think the design considerations would be similar, with the main exception that grain dust explosions can yield secondary explosions when loose material is shaken loose by the primary explosion. Technical references are available for velocity/pressure.

It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right by having no ideas at all.

Go to the NFPA standards.. There are several that apply and give good guidance when designing for dust explosions. R
