We have inherited a legacy spiral wound cartridge 40kD MWCO 2-pump UF/DF system with which we have no experience.
P&ID is attached.
Both pumps have variable frequency drives.
We have gauges at filter inlet, outlet as well as on the permeate outlet lines.
Additionally we have valves at retentate and permeate flow meter outlets.
Can you suggest which parameters (pump speeds, TMP, cross-flow rate, permeate pressure, etc.) we should control and by what means?
Should the pump speeds be relatively constant?
Membrane fouling did not seem an issue during our initial engineering batch.
Any support is appreciated.

Pump speeds are usually constant. You should have a representative from the manufacturer of the system stop by and provide operating tips.
