I am interested in putting up soft body armor on inside of a standard SIGP's style Humvee Shelter with an adhesive ... desire level III+ ... need vender to supply several sheets to cover 7'x7'x60" sides of shelter.... delivery time is key factor... also interested in what best adhesive would be and quickest source for ...

There are over 100 suppliers of body armor in the US. Both Armacel and Ceradyne, located in California, supply Level IV armor protection used in the military.

Note that these types of armor are essentially single shot for the intended application, since the ceramic overlayer is shattered upon impact. Note also, at least for Ceradyne, an impact from an armor-piercing round will cause a permanent dent in the backing material, since that's how the kinetic energy is absorbed.

Better late than never.......the absolute cheapest and most cost efficient armor for USNIJ IIIA (pistols)is fiberglass (17 K SQ Meter) with minimum resin --- for Level III (soft core rifle) you can do the same but you would need 5 Level IIIA fiberglass panels as described. There is a bit of overkill in the arealweight but is considered due to manufacturing variances and the critical factor of death from failure. If you go for steel, it must be around Brinell 400 you need about 12mm of it -- 2mm sheets with epoxy/glass(3Ksqm) would be good. If you can find hardened aluminum ( go find printing industry equip suppliers for one) the you would need about 20mm but quality varies so put a sheet or two of steel in front. For AP ammo, drop me a question in here -- another subject.
