Best Simple Tool (cylinder) gripper mechanism for high speed translation

Hi All

I was searching for some mechanisms , for a two finger like gripper that hold a small cylinder, like 5 cm hight and 3 cm diameter , in a high speed, (metal cylinder) , like 2 pieces per second

where can I find some Ideas , and do some analysis , how do you suggest me to do the analysis of the movement, cause the movement of the gripper is reciprocating horizontal, and it's between two dies, it might be trapped if the dimensions are wrong and the fingers break

which mechanisms might avoid this ?
