How much can you bend a straight piece of rebar and still consider it to take the full load in tension? (or Compression)
I have a concrete embed which has tails on it to drag the load into the concrete. There are times in the field in which the tails need to be bent to fit in place.
I've heard it said that the maximum the bar can be bent in order for the bar to be effective is at a 1 to 6 angle, but can't seem to find anything in the code. Does anyone have any knowledge on this? Are there any code sections one can point to?
