Dear All,

We would like to understand how to calculate bend vs flat resistance of glass. Normally in bend, you have like some pre-charged and give you some additional strenght before starting some additional in the oposite direction. There is some way to calculate..?

Additionally, what happens when you put to some internal stress due to heating up and then cooling.. Do you increase or decrease the resistance..?

Thanks to all for the help...!!

hferndandez - if you are doing a finite element analysis of architectural scale glass with a normal thickness, you need to model the glass with non-linear geometry. As the bent glass deflects, frequently it changes the section enough to affect the strength and stiffness.
