Dear All
Please suggest me about the procedure for the bearing regreasing, should it be done while a motor run or stop? (Due to I found that grease let through the bearing into winding and many motors fail because of this problem)
Thank you
PAP
In the ideal world, you would follow the recommendations of the motor manufacturer, since there are subtle differences in bearing seals, and the cavities/housing in which the bearing sits, and the flowpaths from fill to bearing to drain.
In the real world most people find a method they are comfortable with and stick with it.
Some of the important parts of the procedure:
remove the fill and drain plugs and clean fittings.
inject the proper quantity (see lots of charts for lub quantity based on bearing size, speed, duty).
Run the motor for 1-2 hours with drain plug removed to allow excess grease to drain.
Replace plug.
