Hi,

I'm currently working on a trunnion mounted ball valve, trying to calculate the bearing sizes for the stem and trunnion. Is the bearing load on the trunnion and stem simply the max design pressure multiplied by the seat contact area plus weight of ball etc?

If designing the bearings and machining in-house how do i calculate the required thickness?

Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance
