We have several thousand .cgm drawing files that we are converting to .pdf(1) format. It is currently being done manually and is very time-consuming. Is an EDS or third-party software package available that does batch conversion of IDEAS cgm drawing files to pdf(1) format?
Thanks

I-DEAS ? I don't think so.
But you could look for 3rd party software for this.

Have a look at the print tool. As far as I can remember, you can load cgm files there and print it; you would have to select the Acrobat Distiller or Writer as output printer. Maybe with some search you can find a way to import a batch of cgm's and print them (i.e. submit them to Acrobat).

Samsung makes a tool for viewing and exporting IDEAS, UG, CATIA, and PRO-E 2D and 3D data. I think this has a batch version available which would go from cgm to image. It is inexpensive to go from image to pdf or other document format.

May be easier to find a 3rd party software that will
convert from CGM to Tiff. Once you have the drawings in Tiff format the Adobe Acrobat Writer will batch process the Tiffs to PDF.

The more translations carried out to obtain the final result, the more errors can creep in.
This is one problem I'm interested in solving too.
