I just started a new job concerning the application of any tools & die steel , it is a wide new knowledge
for me.
The common usefull steel is the aisi 4340 and this is allready avaliable with an 28-32 Rockwell-C
hardness, but this is just a sample of what is existing in this area of mechanic steel.
This industry make extracting tube from copper , brass & copper- nickel alloy.
Starting with a hot red charge 700 deg.C, the 3000 tons press push the hot slug through
a die and produce the first step rought tube.
Where i can find a nest of information about all the steel are gravitated around this process
and particulary easy found in on-line data base from where it is easy pick-up.
