Bar Scales for Planning Applications 1

Can anyone assist me? Submitted plans for simple 5.5 sq m garage with hip roof but rejected as new rules implemented need drawing of roof to 1:50 scale (no prob) but with Bar Scale "either horizontal or vertical"..... How does this fit in with the 1:50 scaling and any visual eg's would be good - thanks!

This would be a 100 scale bar if the right hand bar were to print out 1" long.
