Bar joist Point Load Analysis

SJI has a procedure for analyzing point loads on bar joists. Can no longer find this. I have an existing 24H8 bar joist that I would like to support a sprinkler system from. Need to analyze for point loads.

Doesn't that SJI book by Jim Fisher have a way to check this?

Yes, the SJI book by Fisher, West and Van de Pas has a procedures on this. You might need local reinforcement at the point load location. Example 5.5.2 is probably where you want to start.
