Hello all,
I have a two story wood framed building with brick veneer from foundation to top of parapet. There are several locations where I have a 6' balcony at the second floor. Any suggestions/thoughts on how the framing of the balcony and the continuous veneer work at the exterior wall connection? Balcony deck is typical plywood deck with 3" topping concrete...supported by PT 2x wood members. Is it best to stop the veneer under the balcony deck and then support the veneer above the deck? Or provide pockets in the brick for each 2x member to pass thru and connect to the wood wall?

Thank you and have a super day!

place a beam in front of the brick that way you only have two penetrations through the veneer for it's support.

I agree with Celt83 - that hanger is very fiddly and dicey. Likely works perfectly in a controlled setting.

I admit it does require a contractor who's smarter than your average bear and willing to read instructions. Not always a guarantee.
