Hi,

We have a agitated nutsche filter process where some particles/aerosols (2-10 µm) slip through the dust filters and clog the flame arrestors placed before the vacuum pumps. This requires extensive maintenance on the pumps that we are looking to reduce.

I'm thinking of a inlet system that protects the pump/arrestor however not sure what would work without reducing the level of vacuum in the filter dryer.

Anyone have experience with something similar?

As you can tell I'm a novice on this subject so any ideas is appreciated.

Make the arrestors easier to service. A basket stainer with the same mesh may be able to replace the arrestor all together. Put two in parallel so they don't require downtime to service.
