Does anybody has knowledge about how to improve the B-Value in Plastic Clay specimen in a Cyclic Triaxial Machince. Here are the technique which I use for improving but I am not getting B-value greater than 0.75. Sometimes as low as 0.52.
Use saturated filter paper and porous stone.
I pre vaccum the specimen and try to replace the air with de-aired distill water.
I flush with carbon dioxide for more than a hour.
I do jogging ( terminology used for replacing air with de-aired water) for five cycles. ( one cycle has 230 cc of water send at a pressure of 2 psi)
I am using back pressure saturation technique with back pressure of 100 psi.
The specimen is of size 5.7" * 2.85 " diameter. Can't reduce the specimen size.
