Hi,

is there any way, to use axisymmetric quad element in patran for axisymmetric analysis. since patran has only triangular element for such analysis.

Patran has NO elements for axisymmetric analysis. That option is limited by the solver that you are using. Since you are limited to TRIA elements, then you must be using Nastran as the solver. If you use Marc or Abaqus, you can also use QUAD elements for axisymmetry.

Thanks for the reply. Yes i forget to mentioned the solver, it was Nastran. Due to that problem, I used the Ansys which has QUAD axiysmmetric element.
