Hello,

Does anyone know if the AWWA Standard D100-05 covers the design of flat panel rectangular storage tanks? I would like to have an idea if this is covered before I purchase the specification.

Thank you.

While I believe there are many references in the D100 standard to "diameter" (e.g. probably referring to most common large and predominantly cylindrical tank constructions) and for that matter some aspects of design and minimum thickness etc. of specifically cylindrical tanks, if you ar ein th ewater tank biz it is quite possible something in this standard may be helpful to you (and I ‘m also not sure rectangular water tanks would necessarily be excluded from arguably any relevant minimum provisions in the standard.)
However, if you are looking for the detail/specific stress and thickness/attachment et al design of box-shaped tanks, I’m not sure this standard will do that for you. D100 is prefaced with the comment in the scope section, “Items not covered. This standard does not cover all details of design and construction because of the large variety of sizes and shapes of tanks.”
