automatic material removal in assembly

I would like to be able to assemble hardware parts (hinges, screws, etc) to wood components and remove material on the part where they were installed.
The hardware would be the smart part driving the material removal in the mating part.
Is this possible?
 
No, you would have to do with iFeatures through the part mode or perhaps Multibodies depending on your overall workflow.
 
I have yet to encounter a circumstance where this is necessary. Could you elaborate on your need to set up your models this way, Jelenko?
I typically model only finished parts, and any parts which may receive fasteners during installation usually don't need to show the holes. How can you see the hole when the fastener is in place? There may be exceptions to this...
