I'd like to build explosion proof and pressurized panels for Haz Loc with an Atex approval. We currently build both explosion proof and pressurized under UL's 508a NNNY standard. I've found some information about a "self certification" process..... is this anything like UL's 508. Can I just purchase an IEC standard and follow it then self certify?

Mainly interested in Combination Motor controllers, VFD's and sodt starts for Class 1 div 2 groups C and D Atex equivalent. So I guess that would be Zone 2 groups IIB and IIC with Gc = explosion proof and Gb = pressurized?

The ultimate goal being to avoid costly consulting fees and having to fly someone from a Notified Body down for every panel build.
